Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to explore the role and effective use of the Inspiration Mind Mapping Software with students in Higher Education. The paper focuses on the research undertaken with final year undergraduate students on the BA (Hons) Retail Marketing Management course at Leeds Metropolitan University. These students are encouraged to be creative and independent thinkers, but hitherto had little exposure to mind mapping techniques to aid learning. The project used the Inspiration software to integrate mind mapping techniques into the learning process. Students were encouraged and evaluated in using mind maps in different learning scenarios.
