Abstract

The present research was developed at a K-8 public school in Brazil. Using some children’s literary books in English, it was proposed to fifth-grade students to work on a theatrical skit to be presented at a literary fair. The objective was to experiment with a didactic-pedagogic experience aiming at producing a multiform, concrete, and collaborative communicative production. The students chose the tale of The Three Little Pigs and organized themselves into work teams related to theatrical production. The researcher analyzes the result of the experience under the light of the pedagogy of multiliteracies and project-based learning, which demonstrates how the experience assists literacy education in several communicative forms and fosters a more active and collaborative learning environment for students. The researcher also considers it important to think about temporal or rhythmic literacy as one of the forms of making any multiform communicative product by learners.
