Abstract

Preparation for academic professionalism is a pertinent topic of discussion for any graduate student anticipating a career in academe. Still, resources external to academic departments, specifically academic librarians, often go underutilized due to organizational structures and perceptions within universities. This study strives to expand the scope of the scholarship and produce viable solutions as to how librarian involvement might augment the professionalism process. Findings from this study present a modified structure of academic preparation facilitated by librarian effort; further, it outlines the enhancement of the student-librarian-faculty cultural relationship from one of a service orientation to a reciprocally beneficial association.
